About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline, while enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. The role involves developing site logistics, managing schedules, reviewing construction documents, and leading safety, quality, risk, and compliance efforts on complex projects. • Plan and implement schedule‑supporting materials, equipment, and inspections. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans with design engineers and resolve discrepancies. • Develop and manage project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead plans. • Create site logistics plan and lead use of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; handle hiring, transfers, and dismissals. • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents and craft team members. • Ensure accurate task coding, track work progress and productivity. • Manage safety, quality, risk, and compliance; mitigate unfavorable conditions. • Lead by example, provide coaching, feedback, and performance management.

What You Bring

The position requires up to 100 % travel, a valid driver’s license, and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100 %. • Strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills; manage multiple complex projects. • Basic knowledge of construction law and business practices; intermediate MS Office. • Excellent communication, active listening, and ability to work with diverse backgrounds. • Understanding of EEO, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative‑action plans.
