About the Role

This Manufacturing Technician I – Power Factor Correction (PFC) assembles, fits, and mounts sub‑assemblies, components, and standard or near‑standard fixed assemblies in Motor Control Centers, Enclosed Control units, and related assemblies. The technician performs assembly tasks required for test preparation and final inspection, wiring units, relay panels, panel boards, space heaters, and control panels. They also bend and install power cable and leads, fabricate pre‑cable units, panel and MTB harnesses, and verify electrical/mechanical integrity using established power‑checking procedures. In this function the technician works from oral or written instructions, prints, inspection reports, manufacturing information sheets, and wiring diagrams. They utilize these sheets to determine necessary parts, write requisitions, and obtain materials from stock areas. Reading shop orders and drawings guides assembly procedures such as component types, mounting locations, and required clearances. The role includes assembling and fitting parts to form sub‑assemblies or complete assemblies, wiring control devices, and cutting wires to length. Adjustments are made to ensure correct alignment and clearances, and units, panels, meters, pull boxes, reactors, relays, fuses, MTB assemblies, transformers, and other components are mounted or bolted in place. The technician also assembles bus work, creates pre‑bent cable units and harnesses, and cuts, installs, and connects wire or cable for additional relays, timers, or fuses as needed. • Assemble, fit, and mount sub‑assemblies and components in motor control and enclosed control centers. • Perform test preparation, final inspection, and verify electrical/mechanical integrity using power‑checking procedures. • Read and interpret instructions, prints, wiring diagrams, and shop orders to determine assembly procedures. • Write requisitions and acquire necessary parts from stock areas. • Wire control devices, cut wires to length, and make adjustments for alignment and clearances. • Install units, panels, meters, pull boxes, relays, fuses, transformers, and other components by mounting or bolting. • Assemble bus work and fabricate pre‑bent cable units and harnesses. • Cut, install, and connect wiring for additional relays, timers, or fuses as required.
