About the Role

The Sr. (Lead) Quantitative Analyst works remotely and oversees PJM's credit calculation models and trade surveillance. Reporting to the Manager, Surveillance Simulation, the role leads an analytical team to develop models that capture market participant risk and identify gaps where bad actors could exploit market rules. Findings are used to adjust simulation models, margin requirements, and governing documents to ensure efficient markets. Key responsibilities include providing quantitative support for simulation model enhancements and back‑testing, maintaining a historical simulation model that calculates margin requirements for FTR products, and conducting ad‑hoc margin analyses. The analyst will develop tools for analyzing model results, create risk controls and management reporting, and design or modify PJM market rules based on governing documents. Additional duties involve building dashboards, ETL procedures, and regularly interfacing with leadership and cross‑functional teams. • Lead quantitative team to develop and enhance simulation models for credit and trade surveillance. • Maintain and back‑test historical simulation models to calculate margin requirements for FTR products. • Conduct ad‑hoc margin analyses, develop analytical tools, and create risk controls and management reporting. • Design and revise PJM market rules based on governing document analysis. • Build dashboards, ETL processes, and interface with leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or equivalent experience, strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, and the ability to produce high‑quality, detail‑oriented work. Preferred credentials include a master’s or PhD and experience with PJM operations, markets, planning functions, and power‑system analysis tools such as PSS/e. Technical proficiency in SQL, Matlab, SAS, Alteryx, and statistical analysis software is essential. • Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics or equivalent; strong quantitative analysis skills. • Preferred: Master’s/PhD and experience with PJM operations, markets, planning, and PSS/e. • Technical: Proficient in SQL, Matlab, SAS, Alteryx, and statistical analysis software.
