About the Role

Within the design team you will lead the development of cohesive, code‑compliant solutions from schematic design through construction documents. You will guide junior designers, produce graphic presentation materials, and research appropriate systems, materials, and finishes. Collaboration with the Technical Coordinator and client liaison ensures design intent is accurately interpreted and communicated. • Lead cohesive, code‑compliant design solutions from concept through construction documents. • Guide junior designers and foster collaborative team efforts. • Produce and oversee graphic presentation materials for client meetings. • Research and recommend appropriate systems, materials, finishes, and develop specifications. • Coordinate with technical team to ensure design intent is accurately documented. • Create technical drawings and specifications using Revit and other 3D design tools. • Manage client relationships and deliver effective presentations. • Maintain and build client relationships through successful project delivery. • Conduct BIM coordination, cloud mark‑ups, and clash detection. • Develop real‑time visualizations and FF&E schemes; employ VR walkthroughs when needed. • Participate in business development, research projects, and design competitions. • Contribute to office initiatives, learning programs, and community activities.

What You Bring

We are seeking a Technical Designer with a strong passion for design to join Gensler’s Workplace team. In this role you will collaborate with Design Directors and design leadership on a variety of workplace projects, creating impactful and memorable experiences. A successful track record of problem‑solving both individually and as part of a team makes Gensler an ideal place to grow your career. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture and has 3‑7 years of project experience. Proficiency in creating technical drawings, specifications, and using Revit and other 3‑D design programs is required, along with strong client relationship and presentation skills. You must be a motivated self‑starter with excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities. Essential technical expertise includes deep knowledge of Autodesk Revit for authoring, documentation, data extraction, and BIM collaboration, as well as real‑time visualization and FF&E specification development. Desirable skills cover VR walkthroughs, Rhino, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM360, Grasshopper, Dynamo, performance simulation tools, visualization software, and programming languages such as C# and Python. Experience with cloud‑based mark‑ups, consultant coordination, and clash detection is also valued. • Demonstrate deep expertise in Autodesk Revit for authoring, documentation, and BIM collaboration. • Proficient with Rhino, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM360, Grasshopper, Dynamo, performance‑simulation tools, visualization software, and programming languages such as C# and Python.
