About the Role
The Maintenance Technician A works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. Responsibilities include work on chassis components, refuse bodies with control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, engine components, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems. • Repair and maintain chassis components and related systems. • Service refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and air/hydraulic brakes. • Perform engine repair and routine maintenance. • Maintain suspension, drivetrain, and steering assemblies. • Service heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning components. • Conduct line‑maintenance welding and fabrication tasks. • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools. • Complete required company training programs.

The position requires advanced knowledge of vehicle systems to perform complex on‑site and on‑the‑road repairs, including chassis, refuse bodies, braking, engine, suspension, drivetrain, HVAC, and welding or fabrication tasks. Technicians use electronic diagnostic tools to pinpoint malfunctions and must complete applicable company training programs. Candidates should have at least three years of heavy‑duty truck experience and be capable of inspecting and repairing multiple systems without supervision. ASE Heavy Truck certifications, LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B or higher CDL are advantageous but not mandatory, and a valid driver’s license is required. • Three years of heavy‑duty truck technician experience. • Ability to inspect and repair suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions without supervision. • ASE Heavy Truck certifications (T1‑T8) – optional. • LNG or CNG experience – optional. • Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License – optional. • Valid driver’s license required.
