About the Role

A new Front‑end Engineering Delivery team is being built to lead major water projects, flood and coastal risk management, navigation, biodiversity assets and hydropower schemes. As a Senior Civil Engineer you will support feasibility, concept and outline design stages, work alongside industry experts, and help shape proposals and detailed design work on complex multi‑disciplinary projects. • Undertake studies, concept, and outline design. • Lead or coordinate multi‑disciplinary design teams. • Review design submissions for contract compliance. • Perform discipline checks on standard outputs. • Interface and liaise with clients and other stakeholders. • Mentor and develop junior staff. • Coordinate project resources and support capability growth. • Contribute to business development, bids and proposals. • Support technical excellence through digital innovation and robust QA procedures. • Ensure work aligns with Mott MacDonald global standards, HSE and environmental considerations.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with a relevant degree, solid knowledge of water or wastewater standards, and proven experience developing and reviewing civil designs. Strong communication, mentorship, commercial awareness and a proactive attitude are essential, while experience on large UK/Ireland water projects, digital tools, CDM responsibilities and low‑carbon solutions are valued. • Chartered Engineer with a relevant technical degree. • Strong knowledge of water or wastewater specifications and standards. • Experience developing and checking civil engineering designs. • Excellent communication and team development skills. • Proactive, adaptable and commercially aware. • Experience on complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects. • UK/Ireland water or wastewater project experience. • Experience with canals or flood defence projects. • Understanding of CDM designer responsibilities. • Digital proficiency (e.g., Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic modelling). • Contribution to low‑carbon solution development. • Willingness to travel to offices and sites as required.
