About the Role

Parsons is hiring a Drainage Engineer II to work on design‑build and design‑bid‑build road and highway projects across the United States. The role involves civil engineering tasks ranging from drainage and irrigation design to hydraulic modeling, erosion‑control drawing review, quantity calculations, and preparation of technical reports for state and federal DOT projects. • Develop and supervise engineering deliverables such as calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, and technical reports. • Define project problems, scope, budget, and schedule while providing technical direction and status reporting. • Provide guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers on project tasks. • Supervise or mentor one or more subordinates and contribute to performance input. • Deliver accurate drainage and irrigation designs, hydraulic system models, and erosion‑control calculations for project scopes.

What You Bring

The position can be based anywhere in the USA with a hybrid work arrangement when a local office is available, and the engineer will collaborate within a flexible, team‑oriented environment that is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team. • Hold a 4‑year civil engineering degree (or related field) and at least 5 years of road and highway drainage design experience, preferably with state DOT projects. • Possess an Engineer-in‑Training (EIT) certification and proficiency with CAD and engineering software. • Experience obtaining storm‑water permits and using hydraulic modeling tools (HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, HY‑8, Bentley InRoads, StormCAD, WinTR‑55, FlowMaster, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox) is essential. • Professional Engineer (PE) license is desired but not required; security clearance is not required.

Benefits
