About the Role
The Driver Helper rides on the vehicle and assists the Driver in delivering prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services on a designated residential route. Responsibilities include safely loading waste, carrying bags and containers to the vehicle, directing the driver from the ground, and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle and work area. Key duties involve operating the packing mechanism and levers to activate loading, cleaning the packer blade, truck body, hopper, and surrounding area after each trip, and conducting thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections while reporting safety issues. The Helper must interact courteously with customers and dispatchers, monitor waste for unacceptable materials, clean accidental spills per safety standards, meet productivity standards, follow all safety policies, and perform other assigned tasks.
