About the Role
The Account Manager is responsible for proactively maintaining and retaining relationships with existing commercial and industrial waste customers in an assigned territory, while increasing penetration by selling the full suite of Republic Services products. Key duties include building long‑term customer loyalty, developing deep knowledge of the company's services and pricing, conducting contract re‑signs to extend relationships, handling cancellation requests per policy, and supporting pricing initiatives through proactive communication. The role requires daily use of Salesforce to schedule and document all activities, capture customer emails, minimize rate restrictions and credits, and regularly meet with the Sales Manager to review retention goals and key accounts. • Retain existing customers by building long‑term relationships and loyalty. • Execute contract re‑signs to extend relationships and boost profitability. • Manage cancellation requests according to the escalation policy. • Communicate proactively to support company pricing initiatives. • Use Salesforce daily to log calls, meetings, and proposals. • Capture customer emails, minimize rate restrictions, and reduce credits. • Increase customer penetration by cross‑selling the full suite of products. • Meet weekly with Sales Manager to review retention goals and key accounts. • Collaborate with operations to resolve service issues. • Represent the company at trade shows, chamber events, and sponsored activities.

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include waste or transportation industry experience, while the minimum requirements are at least one year of relevant sales experience and a valid driver’s license. • Maintain thorough knowledge of Republic Services’ offerings, pricing, and lines of business. • Preferred: experience in waste or transportation industry. • Minimum: at least 1 year of relevant sales experience. • Valid driver’s license required.
