About the Role
The position provides technical leadership and guidance throughout project planning, design, and delivery, including research, concept development, client interactions, proposal preparation, construction support, and mentorship of staff. It ensures disciplined engineering practices, multidisciplinary coordination, and adherence to quality and safety standards, aiming for technical excellence that exceeds industry expectations. The successful candidate will oversee engineering execution, support project managers, and contribute to departmental initiatives such as resource forecasting, recruitment, and business improvement. They will also represent WSP at industry conferences and foster knowledge transfer across teams. • Lead and execute engineering of transmission projects up to 765 kV • Develop and maintain an efficient project execution layout and schedule • Conduct weekly or bi‑weekly project meetings to assign deliverables and tasks • Coordinate client status updates and support project meetings as needed • Maintain clear communication across multidisciplinary internal and external teams • Forecast project requirements to aid resource planning • Ensure compliance with WSP QA/QC procedures • Participate in industry conferences to promote professional growth and knowledge sharing • Apply PLS‑CADD expertise in design, structure staking, foundations, loading, procurement, and construction specifications • Lead project teams of varying sizes and travel to client sites or vendor facilities as required • Support Project Managers with status reports, scope, schedule, and budget development • Identify out‑of‑scope items and manage scope variances • Provide regular project updates and forecasting • Assist PMs in client meetings, both in person and remotely • Develop client relationships to position WSP for future work • Assist with resource forecasting and recruitment initiatives • Implement business improvement methodologies and procedures • Support staff performance and technical development within the department • Contribute to business planning and ethical decision‑making regarding company resources • Uphold workplace safety and comply with WSP health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies • Manage subcontractors and perform cost estimating and scheduling • Participate in technical societies such as IEEE, CIGRE, or ASCE

What You Bring

The firm expects ethical decision‑making and compliance with its Code of Conduct and all related policies. • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) • Bring 10+ years of transmission engineering experience managing projects and multidisciplinary teams • Maintain an engineering license (multi‑state preferred) and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure • Understand NESC, RUS, and/or GO‑95 standards • Demonstrate strong knowledge of transmission line fundamentals and PLS‑CADD operation • Communicate effectively in English, both written and oral, with internal and external stakeholders • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite • Experience in field program planning, management, and execution • Possess field experience and familiarity with pole and tower construction • Hold an MBA from an accredited university (preferred) • Skilled in ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and foundation design software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE)
