Job Highlights
About the Role
• Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments, performing pick‑up and transport of waste/recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, DOT and all applicable laws while driving. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend required trainings, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and best practices. • Dump receptacles cleanly and maintain customer sites free of debris. • Complete end‑of‑day paperwork and assist other drivers as needed.

What You Bring
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, handling commercial, residential, or roll‑off routes, and must execute skilled backing maneuvers in high‑traffic and confined environments. The role requires strict adherence to WM Safety, OSHA, DOT regulations, thorough vehicle inspections, prompt reporting of hazards or incidents, and participation in training and route‑efficiency initiatives. Candidates must hold a valid Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement, have at least one year of relevant driving experience (or equivalent military service), be at least 18 years old, and be legally authorized to work in the United States; a high‑school diploma or GED is preferred. The position involves various physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling, with accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
