About the Role

The role includes responsibility for staff wellbeing, mentoring and career development, as well as line‑managing part of the West Midlands team and working with senior regional leaders on utilisation, recruitment and training needs. Projects span all phases of a development lifecycle, from design conception to implementation, offering opportunities to influence scheme design, promote best practice and deliver nature‑based solutions on major infrastructure projects.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a degree in Ecology or a related subject, be a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (or achieve chartered status within six months), and have experience in ecological consultancy with strong report‑writing and review skills. Desirable qualities include people‑management, project‑management, bid preparation experience and willingness to travel throughout the UK. Mott MacDonald is not offering Skilled Worker visa sponsorship following the UK Government changes in April 2024, but welcomes applications from candidates eligible for alternative immigration routes that do not require sponsorship. • Degree in Ecology or related subject (essential). • Full Member of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (or chartered within 6 months). • Experience in ecological consultancy with strong report‑writing and review capability. • Technical specialism such as protected‑species licences or advanced botanical skills. • People‑management experience (desirable). • Project‑management experience (desirable). • Bid preparation experience (desirable). • Willingness to travel throughout the UK (desirable).
