Job Highlights
About the Role
Key duties include conducting observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction sites; performing routine field or laboratory tests in accordance with industry standards; and completing calculations and data reduction based on test results. The role also requires daily communication with contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers, reporting site condition changes, and assisting with equipment organization and maintenance. ECS supports career growth by providing internal and external training programs and facilitating certifications from organizations such as OSHA, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, and various State DOTs. Technicians are expected to document findings precisely and follow accepted engineering practices. • Conduct field observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete. • Perform routine laboratory tests following industry standards. • Calculate and reduce data from samples and test results. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers about site conditions and testing needs. • Assist in organizing field equipment and report any broken or missing items. • Participate in ECS methodology training and document findings accurately.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift at least 85 pounds, and possess a valid driver’s license with insurance. They should be eager to learn heavy‑construction safety practices, CMT principles, and ASTM laboratory standards, and may need an OSHA 10 certification. Strong spoken, written, and reading communication skills and the ability to work well with contractors, peers, and supervisors are essential. • Lift up to 85 lb and maintain a valid driver's license with insurance. • Obtain OSHA 10 and other relevant certifications as required. • Apply strong written and verbal communication skills while collaborating with diverse teams.
