About the Role
The Engineering Technologist position at Pike Engineering is an entry‑level role focused on applying technical skills to design safe, cost‑effective, and reliable electrical facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Incumbents are expected to understand basic client design workflows, perform data entry, and develop expertise in the company’s specialized technical areas. Under direct supervision and mentorship, the technologist will learn and practice safety policies, apply relevant codes and regulations, conduct job‑site visits, and use the company’s design software and work‑management tools. The role also involves preparing project packages, evaluating equipment loading, communicating job status, maintaining organized records, and building professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Learn, practice, and consistently apply all safety policies and procedures. • Apply applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures to assigned work. • Conduct safe job‑site visits and interact with construction personnel. • Use company and client design software and work‑management tools. • Prepare project packages with material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, and construction drawings for electrical installations. • Accurately evaluate loading on distribution equipment such as transformers and fusing. • Communicate job status regularly to meet client expectations and delivery dates. • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers. • Keep files and records organized. • Receive mentorship from experienced personnel, supervisors, and professional engineers.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least a high‑school diploma or GED, with an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Relevant experience includes 0–1 year in power distribution engineering, craft work, or GIS/CAD. Required skills include reading technical documents, basic mathematical operations, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong communication, time‑management, and a valid driver’s license. • Learn utility construction practices on public right‑of‑way and private land.
