About the Role

Diesel Mechanics are responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of trucks that serve millions of customers nationwide. Daily tasks involve inspecting, diagnosing, and fixing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel and, where applicable, CNG vehicles. Mechanics must estimate repair time and material costs, adhere to Standard Labor Repair Times, respond to emergency breakdown calls, and complete required documentation. They also support senior mechanics, review driver inspection reports, and ensure the shop remains clean and OSHA‑compliant. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel and CNG trucks • Estimate time and material costs for repairs • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls • Perform safety inspections on all vehicles • Document parts usage and repair times • Assist senior mechanics with project work • Review and address driver vehicle inspection reports • Maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area
