About the Role

In this position you will lead technical analysis and design of site power architectures for compute, networking, and edge equipment, perform power‑requirements analysis, and define standards and templates for rack‑level power patterns and redundancy. You will investigate recurring power incidents, develop root‑cause analyses and corrective actions, and establish observability practices through instrumentation and telemetry integration. Documentation such as site build packages, diagrams, and engineering change proposals will be produced while partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure power designs align with operational constraints. • Lead analysis and design of site power architectures for compute, networking, and edge equipment • Perform power requirements analysis, including load estimation, UPS sizing, and generator interfacing • Define and maintain power design standards, site templates, and commissioning checklists • Conduct root‑cause analysis of recurring power incidents and implement corrective actions • Establish power observability through instrumentation, telemetry integration, and alert thresholds • Create dashboards to track downtime trends, failure modes, and preventive maintenance • Reduce repeat power‑related outages via targeted fixes and improved monitoring • Support system design and integration for distributed sites, including requirements decomposition and deployment readiness • Produce documentation such as site build packages, diagrams, and engineering change proposals • Collaborate with network, infrastructure, security, operations, field engineering, and logistics teams to align power designs • Hands‑on development of site power standards, checklists, and commissioning procedures

What You Bring

The organization is seeking a highly talented Systems Engineer – Power Systems & Reliability to support a globally distributed, mission‑critical technical program. The role combines traditional systems‑engineering duties with a focus on power architecture, power quality, and reliability engineering, acting as the program’s Power Systems Subject Matter Expert. Travel of 25–40 % to remote facilities and staging locations is required to perform site assessments and readiness events. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Systems Engineering or equivalent experience, and 8–12+ years of relevant experience in power systems engineering or critical‑facility power design supporting IT/network equipment. Candidates must demonstrate expertise with UPS systems, PDUs, circuiting, grounding, surge protection, load calculations, and commissioning, as well as strong systems‑engineering fundamentals and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Preferred qualifications include experience supporting remote sites with constrained infrastructure, familiarity with power‑monitoring protocols such as SNMP‑enabled UPS/PDU telemetry, and knowledge of reliability‑engineering methods like FMEA and fault‑tree analysis. Hands‑on experience creating site power standards, installation checklists, and commissioning procedures, as well as understanding HVAC/thermal interactions and rack‑level buildouts, is also valued. • Active TS/SCI clearance (mandatory) and valid passport • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Systems Engineering or equivalent experience • 8‑12+ years in power systems engineering or critical facility power design for IT/network equipment • Expertise with UPS systems, PDUs, circuiting, grounding, surge protection, load calculations, and commissioning • Strong systems engineering fundamentals: requirements, interfaces, verification, documentation • Ability to work in ambiguous environments, drive standardization, and communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders • Willingness to travel internationally 25‑40% of the time • Experience with remote sites that have constrained infrastructure and variable power quality • Familiarity with power monitoring protocols (e.g., SNMP‑enabled UPS/PDU telemetry) and environmental sensors • Knowledge of reliability engineering methods such as FMEA and fault tree analysis • Understanding of HVAC/thermal effects on equipment reliability • Experience with rack‑level buildouts, cabling, labeling, and coordination with facilities teams
