What You Bring
The Caster Pulpit Operator’s primary job function is to coordinate caster deck operations with the LMF and Hot Mill to keep steel moving through the shop. Pulpit operators edit lineups to suit shop conditions and coordinate equipment changes with the mold and segment team. Once fully qualified, the operator is also expected to qualify as a Caster Strandtender and Caster Tech. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum qualifications include five years of experience as a Caster Pulpit Operator. • Qualify as a Caster Strandtender and Caster Tech after full qualification. • Possess at least 5 years of experience as a Caster Pulpit Operator.
