About the Role

You will support sales organizations by applying your technical expertise to drive sales, and you will provide relevant customer and market inputs to product management and R&D activities to ensure market alignment and relevance. Your work will cover all phases of delivery, including design, maintenance, testing, integration, verification, and deployment of software functions required for the safe and reliable operation of plants and transmission links. The position may require short‑term international travel for site commissioning and customer meetings. Key technical responsibilities include adapting HVDC Base Control & Protection Software for global projects, establishing and maintaining a control‑and‑protection laboratory for HVDC base projects, developing control and protection functions for future HVDC technologies, and resolving related issues. You will coordinate with stakeholders across business units to gather inputs that optimise HVDC solutions and ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. • Enable pre‑sales and sales teams to grasp technical market needs for wired telecom networks. • Deliver technical expertise that drives sales and supports customer engagements. • Supply market and customer insights to product management and R&D for alignment. • Participate in design, testing, integration, verification, and deployment of safety‑critical software functions. • Conduct short‑term international travel for commissioning and customer meetings. • Adapt HVDC Base Control & Protection Software for global projects. • Establish and maintain a control‑and‑protection lab for HVDC base initiatives. • Create control and protection solutions for emerging HVDC technologies. • Troubleshoot and resolve control‑protection issues in project execution. • Liaise with cross‑functional stakeholders to optimize HVDC solutions. • Ensure adherence to external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values in daily work. • Request reasonable accommodation through Hitachi Energy’s inquiry form if needed.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold an Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree with 1‑5 years of experience or a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or High Voltage. Required knowledge includes power‑system fundamentals, substation control and protection, HVDC system control and protection, and familiarity with IEEE/IEC standards. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) is expected; experience with HVDC systems, digital signal processing, analog and digital circuits, technical tender support, bidding, substation environments, and protection applications is preferred. The successful applicant will be a self‑starter who can own tasks to completion and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Hold an Electrical Engineering degree (BSc 1‑5 yr experience or MSc) with knowledge of power systems, substation control, HVDC, and IEEE/IEC standards. • Proficient in MS Office; experience with HVDC systems, DSP, analog/digital circuits preferred. • Background in technical tender support, bidding, substation environments, and protection applications. • Demonstrate self‑starting attitude, task ownership, and strong communication skills.
