About the Role

The Production Group Lead directs production teams to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and annual output goals using the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and advanced planning and scheduling (APS) tools. This role collaborates with planning, inventory control, supply chain, and the machine shop to ensure on‑time completion of orders. The lead also supports the Production Manager by covering managerial duties when needed. Key duties include planning and leading production activities, controlling material flow, responding to Andon alerts, updating performance metrics, and conducting daily Gemba Board meetings. The lead builds team capabilities through cross‑training, coaching, and recognition while enforcing safety protocols and fostering a culture of continuous improvement using LEAN principles and 5S scheduling. Coordination with the Lean Process Team and management of expedited orders are also essential responsibilities. • Plan and lead production team activities to meet quantity, quality, and on‑time goals. • Utilize ERP (Syteline APS) and Factory Pulse to maintain accurate production data. • Control material flow and request necessary materials via the computerized system. • Respond promptly to Andon alerts to minimize production downtime. • Update performance metrics and conduct daily Gemba Board meetings. • Develop team capabilities through cross‑training, coaching, and recognition. • Enforce safety rules and promote a safe work environment. • Apply LEAN principles, manage 5S scheduling, and collaborate with the Lean Process Team. • Cover manager duties when absent, including attending operations meetings and managing expedite orders. • Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and time‑attendance accounting for team members.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is proficient with ERP software—preferably Syteline APS (Infinite and Finite)—and possesses strong production leadership, organizational, and basic Microsoft Excel skills. A solid understanding of LEAN processes, creative problem‑solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication are required. Ethical leadership, trust‑building, and a commitment to accountability and performance are emphasized. Required education is a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of manufacturing experience for internal candidates (three years for external) and one year in a leadership role. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, and use a computer keyboard.
