About the Role

The technician will conduct observations, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel on construction sites, following project requirements and senior guidance. Routine field tests will be performed using industry‑standard methodologies and equipment, and the results will be reduced, calculated, and documented in field reports. Daily communication with contractors, technicians, and project managers ensures site conditions and testing needs are addressed, and attendance at project meetings may be required. • Perform on‑site observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Execute routine field tests using industry‑standard methods and equipment. • Conduct calculations, data reduction, and prepare detailed field reports documenting site observations. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers to relay site conditions and testing requests. • Attend project meetings and keep supervisors informed of changes. • Receive and apply ECS methodology training for observations, inspections, and testing. • Support professional growth through internal/external training and certifications (ACI, ASNT, AWS, etc.).

ECS Limited is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join the Eagle Pass team. The role offers opportunities for professional development and incentives as you advance your skills and gain experience. You will work with experienced project management professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks within the Field Services department. Candidates must have at least two years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be willing to maintain basic and two advanced certifications. Physical requirements include regularly lifting 40–70 lb and occasionally 85 lb, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation is required. Strong communication, safety knowledge, proficiency with electronic devices, solid math skills, and basic MS Office knowledge are also essential. • Minimum 2 years related experience. • High school diploma or GED. • Hold current basic level certifications and two additional advanced certifications; OSHA 10 a plus. • Ability to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height. • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed). • Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills. • Solid understanding of heavy construction safety practices and procedures. • Proficiency with phones, tablets, laptops, and basic MS Office. • Strong math skills for reading maps, interpreting plans, and calculations.
