About the Role

The role provides leadership and technical guidance to the engineering services team, overseeing activities such as management of subcontracted engineering services, test rig design, test facility maintenance and compliance, and development test and assembly resource management. It is part of the engineering leadership team at the Titchfield UK site and leads the design, development, testing, support, and service of airframe fuel products, including fuel and air valves, actuation and electro‑mechanical pump systems for military and commercial aerospace applications. The incumbent must ensure a safe environment for test and product assembly, proactively addressing safety issues related to personnel, visitors, facilities, equipment, test setups and regulatory compliance, while developing a lab safety culture and a 5S program that exceeds site expectations. Responsibility includes operational cost, quality and on‑time delivery of test programs, managing lab metrics such as safety, first‑pass yield, cost and efficiency, and ensuring all lab equipment is maintained, calibrated and meets 5S standards. Effective management of subcontracted engineering services is required to guarantee supplier conformance to agreed service commitments, capability and value. The role also involves developing and managing a five‑year rolling budget, including capital investment needs for equipment and facilities, and demonstrating return on investment aligned with business strategy. Coordination with other site functional leaders ensures clear and consistent communication, and other tasks are assigned by the Product Line Engineering Manager. • Lead the engineering services team, overseeing subcontracted service delivery, test rig design, facility maintenance, and development test resources. • Direct design, development, testing, support, and service of airframe fuel products such as valves and electro‑mechanical pumps for aerospace applications. • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in test and assembly environments and foster a lab safety culture with a robust 5S program. • Manage operational cost, quality, and on‑time delivery of test programs; track metrics like safety, first‑pass yield, cost, and efficiency. • Supervise subcontractor performance to meet service commitments, capability, and value expectations. • Develop and control a five‑year rolling budget, including capital investments, and present ROI aligned with business strategy. • Identify risks and opportunities and coordinate clear communication with site functional leaders. • Report progress to the UK Fuels Product Line Engineering Manager and senior leadership.
