About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical and Plumbing Project Manager to oversee high‑quality construction projects from planning through completion. The role blends leadership and coordination with a strong focus on quality control, ensuring mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection meet design requirements, specifications, and industry standards while collaborating closely with engineers, contractors, and inspectors. • Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. • Inspect mechanical systems for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards. • Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to ensure alignment with project specifications. • Identify and report non‑conformances, coordinating corrective actions with contractors and engineers. • Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance. • Immediately notify contractors and officials of any potentially life‑threatening safety conditions. • Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking. • Oversee corrective actions, final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts. • Witness and document critical tests such as pressure, leak, and system start‑ups. • Verify material, workmanship, and equipment quality against project specifications.

What You Bring

• Minimum requirement: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. • Preferred: 2+ years on federal or higher‑education construction projects; 3+ years reviewing shop drawings; knowledge of local and national codes and construction methods; experience with historic properties and occupied modernizations; OSHA 10‑hour certification; CQM‑C certification preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with federal project management systems.

Benefits

The position is based on‑site in Arlington, VA, with a compensation range of $110,000–$130,000 annually. Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization and relocation assistance are not available for this role.
