About the Role
Key duties include reading and interpreting load charts, understanding hand signals for material placement, performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools, conducting daily equipment inspections, reporting malfunctions, preparing and leveling surfaces to specifications, and assisting other craft workers as needed. • Operate track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader/maintainer, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. • Read and interpret load charts. • Interpret hand signals to determine material placement. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Conduct daily inspections: check fluids, refuel, add fluids, assess wear. • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors. • Prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm tasks. • Drive cars, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment. • Use hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic). • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, scaffolds, and equipment. • Work on uneven, muddy, rocky, or soft surfaces; may involve confined spaces and adverse weather. • Read, write, and understand directions and safety policies. • Observe details and maintain accuracy.

What You Bring
The Dirt and Finish Operator must be certified and capable of operating equipment such as a track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader/maintainer, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. The operator must learn safety hazards, use tools safely, and work in plant operations or construction job‑site settings. Physical demands involve the ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), extensive use of hands, arms, and legs, climbing and balancing on steel or wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds, and working on uneven, muddy, rocky, or soft surfaces, in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions. Mental requirements include effective communication with supervisors, reading and writing comprehension for following directions and safety policies, the ability to concentrate amid distractions, decision‑making skills, and a detail‑oriented approach to observe and remember work details. • Communicate effectively (hear, comprehend, speak) for safe performance.
