About the Role

The technician will carry out field activities such as observing, testing, inspecting, and sampling a range of construction materials—including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel—under the guidance of senior staff. They will follow industry‑standard testing procedures, collect and reduce data, maintain equipment, and keep daily communication with contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers, attending project meetings as needed. • Perform field observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of construction materials (soil, aggregate, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, structural steel). • Conduct routine structural and reinforcing steel inspections, including welded or bolted connections, using industry‑standard NDT methods. • Calculate and reduce data from samples and tests; maintain field equipment inventory and report issues. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers; attend project meetings and relay site condition changes. • Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings per engineering practices.

Candidates must have at least two years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, the ability to obtain two specialty certifications, physical capacity to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly (occasionally 85 lb), a valid driver’s license, strong communication skills, and knowledge of destructive and non‑destructive testing principles, construction safety, and basic MS Office. • Hold at least 2 years of related experience and a high school diploma or GED. • Obtain or possess two specialty certifications (e.g., NRC, NICET, AWS, ASNT, ASTM). • Lift 40–70 lb repeatedly (occasionally 85 lb) and work at heights; possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, knowledge of NDT principles, construction safety, and ability to read plans. • Proficient with phones, tablets, laptops, and basic MS Office applications.
