About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership throughout the project life cycle, oversee scope, schedule, cost, and quality, and develop essential documents such as Project Execution, Health & Safety, and QA/QC plans. They will coordinate budgets, integrated schedules, risk registers, and corrective actions while supervising field contractors and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Business development is a core component; the manager will identify new opportunities in Western Canada, collaborate on proposals, lead capture efforts, and support regional BD planning with the Regional BD Manager. Responsibilities also include leading client meetings, maintaining pipeline awareness, and contributing to proposal reviews and pricing. • Lead project teams through preliminary design, feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction phases for large‑scale transit projects. • Review and contribute to design drawings, technical reports, and proposal documents. • Prepare monthly status reports, monitor performance metrics, and implement corrective actions for cost or schedule deviations. • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, risk registers, and cost control mechanisms. • Establish and oversee Project Execution, Health & Safety, and QA/QC plans in compliance with client contracts and corporate policies. • Manage stakeholder and public engagement, including leading consultation sessions and communicating project updates. • Mentor and supervise staff, fostering a client‑focused, collaborative environment. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, support proposal development, budgeting, and capture management for Western Canada. • Conduct negotiations with regulatory agencies and facilitate Indigenous consultation when required. • Apply PMP methodology and industry best practices to ensure strategic decision‑making and project governance.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Project Management, Construction Technology, or a related field, or a technical diploma, combined with at least 15 years of relevant project management experience. Preference is given to individuals with a PMP designation (or eligibility) and a background in rail, transit, or complex infrastructure delivery using alliance, Design‑Build, or Design‑Bid‑Build models. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, conflict resolution, and change‑management skills, as well as the ability to influence interdisciplinary teams without direct authority. Experience in Indigenous consultation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic decision‑making is essential.
