About the Role

The Transmission Line Project Engineer at QISG oversees the design of high‑voltage infrastructure, provides oversight for detailed design teams, and performs engineering support for EPC proposals, requiring a strong civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering background and extensive experience with high‑voltage substations or transmission lines. In this role you will manage projects from inception through closeout, ensuring compliance with regulations, budget, schedule, and quality standards while coordinating with government agencies, contractors, and the public. • Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. • Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations or transmission lines. • Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule while delivering cost‑effective solutions. • Verify compliance with local, state, federal, environmental, and safety regulations and standards. • Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and the public to ensure successful project delivery. • Oversee quality control procedures to maintain high workmanship and material standards. • Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, engineering documentation, and records. • Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.

What You Bring

The position requires an engineering degree, a Professional Engineer license, several years of utility industry experience, and strong technical, communication, and leadership abilities. • B.S. or graduate degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited university. • Minimum 5 years of detailed engineering experience on high‑voltage substation or transmission line projects in the electric utility industry. • Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering and knowledge of utility engineering and construction standards. • Proficiency with industry‑specific software packages and familiarity with project controls and estimating processes. • Experience supporting external customers and excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, and NESC. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, handle ambiguity, and travel up to 10‑20% of the time.
