Roadway Engineer (EIT)
Designs and oversees roadway, drainage, and related civil engineering projects in Louisiana.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Efficiently produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects. • Lead the production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates • Coordinate with other design disciplines counterparts (roadway, structural, utilities, etc.) to develop a comprehensive project design. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies. • Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction and work independently. • Lead the design effort for local projects as well as segments of larger alternative project delivery projects. • Prepares calculations for hydraulic and hydrologic analysis of storm drains, detention facilities, culverts, water quality (BMP/LID) features, and other related items. • Work in a team environment to help deliver transportation infrastructure design projects. • Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures on roadway design projects. • Prepared calculations for roadway projects in accordance with project, municipality, or DOT design standards.

What You Bring
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred • 2-4 years of roadway, highway, and drainage design experience • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) • Ability to supervise and mentor entry level staff and be responsible for entry level staff job tasks. • Experience using computer assisted engineering and design (CAD) software to prepare engineering and design documents including MicroStation, Inroads and Open Roads. • Must be flexible, well organized, accountable and dependable
