About the Role
• Design roadway geometry, drainage systems, and pavement layouts. • Develop and implement Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans during construction. • Perform engineering calculations and ensure compliance with standards and regulations. • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects. • Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess conditions. • Coordinate with architects, environmental specialists, and construction managers. • Assist in preparing proposals, reports, and technical presentations for clients. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. • Ensure quality control, schedule adherence, and budget management. • Participate in public meetings, stakeholder consultations, and permit acquisition. • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

What You Bring
The New England Transportation group is hiring a civil engineer experienced in roadway and highway design to develop and execute projects for state, local, and municipal clients across the region. The role involves geometric design, drainage, pavement design, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. • BA/BS in Civil Engineering (or related field) with at least 4 years of roadway design experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months. • U.S. citizenship required. • Preferred: 6+ years of transportation roadway design experience. • Proficiency with OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D for alignment and 3D modeling. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in problem solving.

Benefits
This position is based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, follows a hybrid work model, and offers a salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 annually. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role does not provide relocation or sponsorship.
