About the Role

Parsons is seeking a Civil/Highway Engineer II to design streets, highways, interchanges, railroad sites, and other NY/NJ infrastructure projects. The role includes engineering duties such as developing studies, designs, estimates, and construction documents while collaborating with CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors. The position involves field investigations, roadway and highway design, grading, drainage, utilities, green infrastructure, work zone traffic control, and site layout. You will create civil/highway design plans, profiles, sections, and details using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related software, and prepare technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents. You will support multidisciplinary design teams throughout project execution and provide assistance on other engineering activities as needed. • Conduct field investigations and perform roadway/highway design, grading, drainage, utilities, green infrastructure, work zone traffic control, and site layout. • Develop civil/highway design plans, profiles, sections, and details using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related software. • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and other contract documents. • Support multidisciplinary design teams in project execution and provide additional engineering support as needed.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, has at least five years of experience with NYCDOT, NYCDDC, and NJDOT projects, and is proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other engineering software. Strong communication skills are required, and Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification is preferred. This role does not require a security clearance and is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team, which has delivered essential projects that enhance community mobility, economic growth, sustainability, and resilience for over 80 years. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) with 5+ years of experience on NYCDOT/NYCDDC/NJDOT projects. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other engineering software; strong verbal and written communication skills. • Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification. • Position requires no security clearance and is part of the Critical Infrastructure team.
