About the Role

• Perform design tasks such as conceptual layouts, grading, and drainage for civil engineering projects. • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and collaborate with staff to complete projects within budgets and deadlines. • Ensure designs meet company and client production and design standards. • Conduct QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, and outcomes. • Interpret multidisciplinary drawings and respond to requests for information. • Research and apply relevant code provisions to designs. • Collaborate with experienced engineers to develop project designs. • Research design options and document findings for project managers. • Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, adapting designs as needed. • Assist engineers and leaders in creating design deliverables.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. • Possess 2–4 years of relevant civil engineering experience. • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred. • Know local city, county, and state land‑use processes and regulations (VA/MD). • Proficient in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and site development design. • Demonstrated Civil 3D skills from concept through completion. • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication abilities. • Maintain attention to detail with strong analytical and judgment skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Read, write, and understand English for job‑related communications.
