About the Role
Job Summary: Safely operate a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. You will be responsible for safe operation of a heavy‑duty truck on transfer routes. Essential duties include operating the vehicle in compliance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections with DVIR documentation, and reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or service interruptions. Drivers attend required trainings, collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, and ensure receptacles are dumped and sites left clean. Additional responsibilities involve following route assignments, completing end‑of‑day paperwork, and assisting other drivers as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty truck safely on transfer routes following WM safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to Management or Dispatch. • Attend required training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and best practices. • Dump receptacles, clean customer sites, and follow end‑of‑day paperwork procedures. • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
Qualifications: Required – at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years, minimum age of 18, legal eligibility to work, and a valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement. Preferred – high school diploma or GED. A REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative may be required for travel by air or access to federal property. Accordingly, successful candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or equivalent.
