About the Role

The position offers exposure to a variety of power and energy clients and involves detailed power‑system and grid‑code compliance studies, grid connection due diligence, and support for electrical design. You will lead aspects of medium to large projects, guide junior engineers, and contribute to business improvement initiatives, bids and client liaison. • Conduct detailed power‑system and grid‑code compliance studies using PowerFactory, PSCAD and PSS/E. • Perform grid connection due diligence, including prospecting, optioneering, risk and capacity assessment. • Carry out power‑system studies for industrial projects such as water‑treatment plants. • Support electrical design delivery through power‑system analysis. • Lead components of medium to large‑scale projects. • Mentor and guide entry‑level engineers. • Drive business process improvement initiatives. • Prepare bids and proposals. • Liaise with OEMs and clients to achieve technical outcomes.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in engineering design consultancy, OEM or utility network planning. • Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution planning and customer connection processes. • Familiarity with UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, P28 and, beneficially, Ireland Grid Code. • Proficient in PSCAD, PowerFactory and Python scripting. • Experience with PSSE and ETAP (desirable). • Understanding of control and protection principles for high‑voltage equipment. • Basic knowledge of power electronics and control systems for renewable technologies. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Experience conducting comprehensive compliance studies (steady‑state, harmonic, dynamic, SSO). • Experience navigating NESO/DNO/TO review periods for compliance study submissions.
