About the Role
In this capacity, the engineer will lead mechanical design efforts, coordinate with piping teams, and develop multidisciplinary deliverables such as equipment layouts, P&IDs, and construction specifications. Additional duties include quality‑control reviews, client interactions, vendor liaison, and supporting projects through construction, start‑up, and commissioning, with occasional travel to sites. • Lead mechanical engineering design on assigned power generation projects • Serve as lead engineer for projects of all sizes, overseeing deliverable development • Coordinate with mechanical piping design team to finalize engineering drawings • Collaborate across disciplines on equipment layouts, P&IDs, isometrics, and asset lists • Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence, and complex client solutions • Generate mechanical engineering deliverables from feasibility through detailed design • Develop construction specifications, equipment specs, and material requisitions • Support home office during construction, start‑up, and commissioning phases • Perform quality‑control reviews of work produced by others • Participate in project and client meetings and present technical information • Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors • Assist with internal and external presentations • Travel occasionally to client or project sites

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess at least six years of experience in power‑generation mechanical design, with a preference for advanced degrees and a Professional Engineer license. Desired expertise includes combined‑cycle and nuclear plant design, mastery of industry codes, and proficiency with engineering software such as Thermoflow, Hysys, Caesar II, and BIM 360, as well as experience working in remote, multi‑discipline teams. • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years relevant experience • Minimum experience in mechanical engineering for power generation facilities • Preferred Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred • 12+ years total experience with power generation facilities; 5+ years as technical mechanical lead • Experience designing combined‑cycle plants and nuclear generation stations • Expert knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTM, etc.) • Proficiency specifying rotating and static equipment and piping material specifications • Familiarity with diverse metallurgy and startup/commissioning field experience • Strong skills in Thermoflow, Hysys, Caesar II, Pipe‑Flo, AspenTech, or similar software • Experience with collaborative modeling tools such as Navisworks and BIM 360 • Proven ability to work in remote, multi‑discipline teams on complex programs
