Job Highlights
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, operations, construction teams, and company engineers to achieve top‑quartile facility performance. Expectation is to be on‑site at least three days per week during commissioning, after which a hybrid work arrangement will apply. Under general direction, the staff engineer will apply engineering principles, develop solutions independently, and may lead small‑to‑medium non‑critical projects or support critical projects under senior guidance. Responsibilities include producing technical documentation, providing ongoing support for operations, maintenance, testing, and regulatory activities, and overseeing field engineering tasks such as commissioning and inspections. Additional duties involve coordinating bid and evaluation processes, partnering with supply chain and legal teams, assigning tasks to interns or technicians, and mentoring less experienced engineers. Continuous self‑development, budgeting, estimating, and work‑order management are also expected to support engineering projects. • Design and construct utility‑scale renewable and dispatchable generation facilities. • Collaborate with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, operations, and construction teams. • Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, and regulatory compliance. • Lead small‑to‑medium non‑critical projects and coordinate critical project phases under senior supervision. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards. • Support bid preparation, technical evaluations, and procurement recommendations. • Partner with supply chain, legal, and other internal functions following established processes. • Assign tasks and coordinate work of interns, drafters, technicians, and craft personnel. • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers to promote professional growth. • Engage in continuous self‑development of technical skills and competencies. • Perform budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and work‑order management for engineering projects.
