About the Role

The Maintenance Technician (West) is responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing building systems, cleaning and servicing mechanical devices, installing and modifying equipment, and performing general repairs such as finishes and carpentry. The technician must respond to emergencies, inspect for unsafe conditions, and operate fire and life safety systems. They also use technology and follow safety training and dress code requirements. • Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including packaging machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, grounds equipment, and HVAC. • Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices. • Install and modify building equipment and systems. • Replace or repair finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment. • Evaluate maintenance operations and recommend upgrades or cost‑saving opportunities. • Apply knowledge of tools and equipment for facility and ground maintenance. • Respond immediately to emergencies and customer service requests. • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventative maintenance. • Maintain and operate fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related fire protection equipment. • Perform carpentry tasks and snow removal as needed. • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives while practicing safe work habits. • Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web‑based applications, and building automation systems. • Adhere to C&W uniform dress code and maintain a neat appearance on and off property.

The position requires at least two years of related experience in a commercial property setting. Candidates should have technical or on‑the‑job training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, carpentry or engine repair, a valid driver’s license with a good record, and basic computer skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word. The job operates primarily in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment, while also requiring regular movement, standing, and manual handling on site. Employees must communicate effectively, operate computers, and perform physical tasks such as extending arms and moving about the workplace. • Complete required C&W safety training annually. • Demonstrate technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multitasking, and a sense of urgency. • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. • Have at least 2 + years of related experience in a commercial property setting. • Hold technical, vocational or on‑the‑job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. • Maintain a valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) with a good driving record. • Possess basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Benefits
