About the Role

• Follow directions and refer exceptions to supervisor. • Participate in safety and quality plans, mentor others to maintain an injury‑free environment. • Complete entry‑level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities. • Develop budgetary M/E estimates using automated estimating system based on program and schematic design. • Review mechanical and electrical options during pre‑construction and perform systems analysis for select projects. • Develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process. • Assist with bid analysis and provide input during subcontractor selection. • Develop sequencing requirements for various systems and propose solutions to meet schedule. • Identify potential quality issues in design documents and contribute to constructability review reports. • Perform job inspections to ensure specifications are met and work is completed with quality and timeliness. • Support shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents. • Assist with commissioning, including creating pre‑functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and conducting functional testing. • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams.

What You Bring

The M/E Engineer 1 role supports entry‑level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities while learning to develop estimates and perform system and bid analysis. Autonomy is limited to following directions with exceptions referred to a supervisor, and the next step on the career path is M/E Engineer 2. • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (intermediate level). • Proficient in Microsoft Office. • Read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications. • Use JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software. • Understand construction management means and methods. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). • Have 0–2 years of construction experience or relevant summer internship/co‑op (preferred).
