About the Role
Under direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician B repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire work such as replacements, rotations, and tread depth checks, and offers the chance to work on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles while receiving training on new technologies.

What You Bring
The technician maintains a working knowledge and moderate proficiency in vehicle components, performing preventative and corrective maintenance both on‑site and on the road. Responsibilities include chassis repairs, refuse body systems, engine work, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, line‑maintenance welding, and safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently. Troubleshooting utilizes electronic tools, and the technician completes applicable company training programs while handling other assigned duties. Candidates should understand work order labor time standards and have prior experience with maintenance on Classes 1‑5 light/medium duty and Classes 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications and a Commercial Driver’s License are a plus, and a valid driver’s license is required. A minimum of one year of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or imminent graduation from an accredited automotive program, is required, along with the ability to inspect systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, and diesel emissions with limited supervision.
