Quality Control Manager
Oversee on‑site quality control for heavy civil construction projects.

About the Role
• Review drawings and submittals for conformance with project requirements. • Communicate quality control updates to Project Managers and advise on issues affecting progress. • Develop and review site‑specific quality procedures with the Project Engineer. • Assist jobsite leadership in resolving client quality‑related complaints. • Order and receive project materials and equipment as needed. • Coordinate weekly quality meetings and integrate safety elements. • Conduct daily quality monitoring and inspections to minimize corrections and punch‑list items. • Exercise delegated authority to stop work when quality issues arise. • Guide the Project Engineer on critical‑path quality items to keep the schedule. • Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance for timeliness, efficiency, and quality. • Prepare comprehensive quality control reports covering inventory, calibration, documents, weather, and emerging issues. • Provide weekly updates on as‑built conditions and maintain safety logs. • Enforce site quality program requirements and process necessary revisions. • Collaborate with Project Manager to ensure complete project close‑out documentation. • Act as Lead Auditor to plan, perform, and report quality audits of construction activities. • Perform physical inspections of disciplines such as piping, civil, concrete, equipment, electrical, controls, coatings, insulation, and NDT.

The work environment is moderate‑stress and involves frequent communication with managers, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies both on‑site and at the corporate office. All recruiter communications will originate from @mastec.com or @talent.icims.com addresses. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or related field. • Minimum 3 years experience as a Quality Manager in heavy construction or project environments. • Virginia Class II Waste Management Facility Operator license (required within 6 months). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related software. • Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations for civil and mining projects. • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels. • Ability to resolve multi‑variable problems, exercise sound business judgment, and meet deadlines. • Skilled in multitasking within fast‑paced, multi‑project settings. • Ability to represent the company professionally with external and internal stakeholders.
