About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Quality Engineer I who will oversee quality control processes for assigned project scopes. The role includes managing, monitoring, reporting, and analyzing project quality performance while leading corrective and preventive actions. The engineer will implement the Quality Management Plan from notice to proceed through final acceptance, conduct inspections, identify non-conformances, and manage NCN and RFI processes. They will also serve as a technical resource, train project personnel, and collaborate with customers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure design compliance. • Foster teamwork and promote diversity • Build cross‑cultural relationships and resolve conflicts • Serve as technical resource and guide for project team • Implement Quality Management Plan from notice to proceed through final acceptance • Oversee quality inspection of materials and work; identify non‑conformances • Manage Non‑Conformance Notices and Request for Information process through corrective actions • Train and manage project personnel on roles, responsibilities, and processes • Discuss and resolve technical issues with customers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors • Capture and share best practices; identify margin‑enhancing or risk‑reducing opportunities • Conduct constructability, design quality, shop drawing, and submittal reviews

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline, or possess equivalent experience, and have at least one year in design, engineering, or construction. A valid driver’s license, mechanical aptitude, familiarity with large cranes and high‑voltage electrical systems, and strong teamwork and communication skills are required. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience • Minimum 1 year experience in design, engineering, or construction • Valid driver’s license • Knowledge of design‑bid‑build process • Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with large cranes, mechanical systems, and medium/high‑voltage electrical systems • Self‑starter, independent, computer literate • Strong teamwork orientation • Basic knowledge of construction processes, systems, and project management • Active listening and effective communication, open to diverse input
