About the Role
Interns will perform elementary architectural assignments, compile data, conduct basic computations, and prepare working drawings on limited‑scope projects. They will assist in gathering information for plans, specifications, cost estimates, and business development, as well as conduct preliminary space studies, take measurements, and produce sketch layouts for contract drawings. Additional duties include researching specifications, performing basic design analyses, and supporting other assigned tasks. In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, HNTB will only employ individuals legally authorized to work in the United States and participates in E‑Verify. • Perform elementary architectural tasks and create working drawings for limited‑scope projects. • Compile data, conduct basic calculations, and assist with plans, specifications, and cost estimates. • Conduct preliminary space studies, take measurements, and produce sketch layouts for contract drawings. • Research and record information for specification writing and basic design analyses.

What You Bring
We are seeking talented summer interns for Summer 2026 to join our dynamic team on aviation, sports, and transit projects. Candidates should be proactive and eager to explore many design ideas. Relocation and housing are not provided for these positions. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and current enrollment in a post‑secondary architectural or related program. Preferred qualifications include Revit skills, prior internship experience, and at least three years of enrollment in an architectural program. Proficiency with software such as SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Enscape, Twinmotion, Lumion, V‑Ray, and Adobe Suite is a plus. Candidates should possess strong communication abilities and demonstrate a positive, proactive, collaborative, curious, and accountable attitude. • Current enrollment in an architectural or related post‑secondary program (minimum high school diploma/GED). • Proficiency with Revit; exposure to SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Enscape, Twinmotion, Lumion, V‑Ray, and Adobe Suite is a plus. • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive, collaborative, curious, accountable attitude. • Prior internship experience preferred; at least three years of architectural program enrollment. • Position located in Kansas City, MO; no relocation or housing assistance provided; visa sponsorship unavailable.
