About the Role
The Industrial Electrical Foreman oversees a crew responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures, including underground cable and conduit installation, terminations, and equipment setup. This role is classified as maintenance only and does not include per diem compensation. Key duties involve reading blueprints and specifications, identifying necessary tools and safety measures, leading daily safe operations, managing workloads, supplies, and equipment, and performing a wide range of installation tasks such as conduit cutting, bending, cable tray fabrication, cable pulling, equipment assembly, wire termination, testing, inspection, temporary power setup, grounding, and hoisting using rigging or crane equipment. The foreman will lead a crew typically ranging from five to fifteen journeymen and helpers, providing daily direction and ensuring operational efficiency. • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine material needs. • Identify required tools and safety precautions for each task. • Lead crew in daily safe operations and manage workloads, supplies, and equipment. • Cut, bend, and install conduit and cable trays per specifications. • Pull and route cables through designated pathways. • Assemble and install electrical equipment, terminating wires to breakers, control panels, and distribution systems. • Test electrical components for continuity and correct voltage. • Inspect equipment for hazards and ensure operational condition. • Set up and maintain temporary power and grounding systems. • Hoist equipment and tools using rigging or crane. • Supervise a crew of journeymen and helpers, maintaining records of time, cost codes, equipment, and personnel. • Perform troubleshooting on high and low voltage systems. • Use specialized tools such as multimeters, ohm meters, and terminating devices. • Enforce lockout/tagout procedures and safety regulations.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least four years of experience as an industrial electrician and two years in a supervisory capacity, possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, meet all physical requirements, be capable of working at heights exceeding 300 feet, and have reliable transportation. The position requires familiarity with Zachry Industrial processes, proficiency in high‑voltage systems, record‑keeping for time, cost codes, equipment, and personnel, solid grounding in electrical theory, and the ability to use hand and power tools for conduit and cable work, as well as specialized testing devices. Supervisors must also demonstrate troubleshooting skills, lock‑out/tag‑out knowledge, and strict adherence to safety regulations and overtime requirements when needed. Preferred qualifications include being a current or former Zachry employee, holding a licensed journeyman electrician credential, possessing NCCER certification for industrial journeyman electricians, and having formal technical education. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and working in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, high‑visibility vests, gloves, and steel‑toed boots. Required certifications are NCCER Electrician and a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) license.
