About the Role
Safety is the highest priority at Nucor; employees must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. This includes following company and OSHA safety procedures, attending safety meetings, and participating in the safety program. • Follow company and OSHA safety procedures and participate in safety meetings. • Perform general labor tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning equipment and yard areas. • Keep grounds clear of debris while maintaining safety standards. • Assist the kiosk operator with weighing, sorting, and moving material, including physical handling of supplies. • Operate small equipment like forklifts and potentially larger industrial equipment. • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report defects or needed repairs to supervisor. • Prepare autos for processing by removing designated parts and fluids. • Inspect incoming scrap or vehicles, advise customers on accepted materials, and apply deductions as needed. • Cross‑train in other positions and assist coworkers when required.

What You Bring
The role requires the ability to work in a fast‑paced, nonstop environment while delivering excellent customer service. Candidates need at least one year of general labor experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably in scrap metal or construction, and must be able to follow written and oral instructions, stand or walk up to 12 hours per day, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain reliable attendance.
