About the Role

Core duties include building wooden structures such as stairs, concrete forms, and temporary shelters; interpreting blueprints and sketches to determine materials; measuring, cutting, and shaping timber and plywood; and assembling components using hand and power tools. The journeyman also erects scaffolding, installs doors, windows, trim, sheathing, and performs minor maintenance. • Build wooden structures, concrete forms, and temporary shelters according to blueprints. • Measure, cut, and shape timber and plywood using hand and power tools. • Erect scaffolding, install ladders, handrails, platforms, and gangways. • Fit and install doors, windows, trim, sheathing, and related hardware. • Tie rebar and perform minor maintenance or cleaning tasks. • Operate electric and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently. • Work within precise accuracy limits and apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work, select proper tools, and visualize 3‑D objects from plans. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria and work at heights without fear. • Adhere to all safety and project rules while observing an equal‑opportunity workplace.

What You Bring

The Journeyman role requires at least three years of documented field experience in a craft discipline, with the ability to read and interpret instructions and independently plan and perform work. The employee constructs, fabricates, installs, and dismantles form work of metal, wood, and accessories. The position demands precise accuracy, application of shop mathematics, and the ability to visualize three‑dimensional objects from plans. Candidates must be able to make decisions based on measurable criteria, work at heights, and follow established safety and project rules. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 lb, and frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, and reaching.
