About the Role

The Water Operator role involves operating machinery to install underground piping, supporting the Water team, and collaborating with department personnel. The position requires adherence to safety standards, equipment maintenance, and occasional labor assistance. • Operate jobsite equipment safely (cranes, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, etc.) • Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs; monitor oil and fluids • Inspect work area to verify staking/locating before digging • Assist maintenance crew or act as laborer when not operating equipment • Dig around live utilities, both underground and overhead • Train, guide, or oversee lower‑graded operators and laborers as needed • Follow safety standards/procedures of MasTec and customers, whichever is higher • Load trucks safely and accident‑free • Improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline processes, and ensure quality service

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum 1 year relevant experience; preferred 2+ years • Valid driver’s license; preferred CDL Class A • OSHA 10 certification preferred
