About the Role

The Terminal 5 Senior Project Manager reports to the Terminal 5 Project Delivery Director and oversees scope, schedule, cost, and operational interfaces for the Terminal 5 renovation and reconstruction at LAX, ensuring schedule certainty, budget delivery, quality standards, and a strong health, safety and environmental culture. The manager coordinates with the T5 Interface Manager and multiple contractors, design teams, utilities and stakeholders to align concourse, headhouse and civil work, managing technical, operational, schedule and logistical requirements across the program. • Deliver projects within budget and schedule while maintaining full scope • Lead stakeholder engagement to identify, communicate, resolve, and meet stakeholder needs • Assemble KPIs and decision packages for governance and executive presentation • Maintain strong working relationships with design and construction professionals • Serve as primary liaison and airport/owner representative directing the project • Develop and manage project scope to achieve goals and objectives • Create RFPs and oversee procurement of designers and contractors • Lead project execution to ensure on‑schedule, on‑budget delivery per contract • Define program goals, understand owner objectives, contract terms, and airport policies • Plan, direct, supervise and control technical, fiscal, and administrative project functions • Collaborate with team and airport management to develop budgets, schedules, and plans • Oversee owner staff managing full project delivery and stakeholder interfaces • Identify and evaluate options for complex design, operational, or constructability issues • Conduct field surveys to capture accurate conditions for strategic decisions • Maintain comprehensive documentation of scope, agreements, drawings, and CAD representations • Manage design and construction phases, resolve technical issues, process RFIs, review shop drawings, approve tests, and manage punch‑list activities • Lead the Design Review Team through all design phases, handling major changes during construction • Coordinate permitting efforts required by design and construction teams • Remove obstacles and mitigate inefficiencies in the construction process • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and technical specifications • Verify work is performed and inspected according to latest plans, submittals, and RFIs • Plan construction activities with designers, contractors, and stakeholders, identifying critical milestones • Monitor potential problem areas and take preventative action to meet milestones • Enforce safe and sound construction practices • Prepare progress reports for senior management • Transportation to/from LAX site is consultant’s responsibility

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least 15 years of experience on large‑scale airport projects, a relevant bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and professional certifications such as PMP, PE, LEED or AAAE. They should demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement, budgeting, scheduling, and construction leadership skills. • Project Manager and technical/construction leader with experience in active airport environments • Understand design and construction contracting practices and methodologies • Possess knowledge of the full design lifecycle • Possess knowledge of the full construction lifecycle • Minimum 15 years experience, preferably on airport projects • Experience managing projects valued over $100 million • Familiar with Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑CMAR and Design‑Build delivery methods • Proven management capability in senior roles • Excellent written and oral communication with thorough industry knowledge • Ability to focus on airport concourse, headhouse, or site/civil scopes as needed • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or related field (required) • Master’s degree (preferred) • Professional licensures or certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP strongly preferred • May need to work beyond regular shifts or varying schedules • LAWA provides a VPN‑enabled desktop; consultant must provide laptop and VPN capability • Consultant must have a company‑provided cell phone
