Cleaner, Part Time- 2nd Shift

About the Role

The incumbent is responsible for a broad range of custodial tasks inside buildings, including sweeping, mopping, and washing floors with both manual methods and commercial floor‑buffer and shampoo machines. Additional duties include vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas, spot‑cleaning and shampooing rugs as directed, and dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, with periodic high‑dusting as needed. Windowsill and interior glass cleaning, as well as washing glass and trim at entrance doors and specified windows, are performed daily. Bathroom cleaning and restocking of paper supplies are also required, following a standard procedure that covers glass wiping, waste basket emptying, dispenser servicing, tile cleaning, floor scrubbing, and defect monitoring such as clogged urinals or lights out. The cleaner collects building trash each day, replaces liners in waste baskets, and places containers in approved collection areas for removal. Snow removal from steps, walkways, and sidewalks is performed as directed, and periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing are also assigned. • Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors using manual methods and commercial floor buffers. • Operate light and heavy floor‑shampoo machines and related attachments. • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑clean and shampoo rugs as needed. • Clean windowsills, interior glass, entrance doors, and specified windows. • Clean and restock bathrooms daily, including glass wiping, waste removal, dispenser servicing, tile cleaning, and floor scrubbing. • Monitor and report defects such as clogged urinals or non‑functioning lights. • Collect building trash, replace liners, and place containers for removal. • Remove snow from steps, walkways, and sidewalks as directed. • Perform periodic tasks like high‑dusting, leather and wood polishing, and wall washing. • Follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team. • Use cleaning tools and equipment safely; maintain attention to detail, organization, high energy, and endurance.
