About the Role
The Intermediate Design Engineer – High Voltage is responsible for delivering high‑quality design solutions for high‑voltage electrical systems. The role provides technical advice, contributes to the development of standards, and ensures alignment with project objectives and stakeholder requirements. • Perform and review high‑voltage designs in line with Australian, IEC standards and Transgrid technical requirements. • Complete detailed design calculations, including short‑circuit forces, conductor sizing, lighting and lightning‑protection studies. • Investigate and implement innovative design solutions to satisfy project and business needs. • Review external high‑voltage designs to ensure quality and compliance. • Collaborate with external consultants to complete and review project designs.

What You Bring
• Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. • Possess extensive experience in high‑voltage design across all functional areas of transmission network substations. • Demonstrate specialised expertise in technical processes and procedures related to substation design. • Proficient with engineering business systems and design software, preferably Bentley ProjectWise and MicroStation.
