About the Role

The Landfill Gas Technician I reports to the Gas Operations Manager and is responsible for operating and maintaining the landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS). The GCCS comprises extraction wells, interconnected piping, and gas conveyance equipment such as fans or blowers, with collected gas routed to a flare for combustion. Proper operation ensures compliance with state and federal environmental regulations. • Operate, calibrate, and maintain electronic data collection devices to optimize LFG extraction. • Collect and enter data from wellfield extraction and environmental monitoring points. • Execute the GCCS preventative maintenance plan. • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain pneumatic/electric liquid management pumps and monitor liquid levels. • Perform wellfield valve and vacuum adjustments, data collection, and maintenance. • Maintain PVC or HDPE piping systems and associated equipment. • Apply knowledge of environmental regulations to GCCS operations. • Follow health and safety procedures and be available for on‑call response to malfunctions.

The position involves mainly outdoor field work (approximately 90 %) in varied weather, with occasional office duties (about 10 %). Physical tasks include operating pumps, adjusting valves, and managing liquid levels, and the role may require travel that necessitates a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative.
