About the Role

The coil-winder is responsible for winding coils used in electrical equipment and instruments, following wiring diagrams, sample coils, or work orders. Work is performed with coil-winding machines and hand tools, and includes reviewing diagrams to determine wire type, size, and coil dimensions. Key duties include winding standard coils for dry-type transformers, using hook-up and hot-work assembly tools to meet production demand, and inspecting product quality and installation to ensure compliance with dimensional and bus-bar standards. The role requires maintaining at least 80% productivity, adhering to safety, attendance and punctuality policies, interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, keeping work areas clean and organized, and complying with U.S. export control and security regulations. • Wind coils for electrical equipment using coil-winding machines and hand tools • Review wiring diagrams, work orders, or sample coils to determine wire specifications and coil dimensions • Produce standard coils for dry-type transformers and operate hook-up/hot-work assembly tools • Inspect finished coils for quality, dimensions, and bus-bar placement to meet production standards • Maintain at least 80% productivity time and follow safety, attendance, and punctuality policies • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints • Keep work areas clean, organized, and presentable • Comply with U.S. export control and security regulations

What You Bring

Basic qualifications are U.S. work authorization without sponsorship, residence within a 50-mile radius of the site (active-duty military exempt), and a high school diploma or GED. Physical requirements include lifting 40 lb, standing for long periods, repetitive use of a mallet, welding/brazing, and the ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Preferred experience includes three or more years in a related field and at least six months of soldering, brazing, or welding experience, or a completed welding certificate from an accredited institution or high-school trades program. • Meet basic eligibility: U.S. work authorization, within 50-mile radius (unless active-duty), high school diploma/GED • Ability to lift 40 lb, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive mallet, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling tasks • Possess welding/brazing skills and wear required personal protective equipment • Preferred: 3+ years related experience; 6+ months soldering/brazing/welding or welding certification
