About the Role

Field Researchers collect data that powers all CoStar Group products, capturing details on current tenants, available listings, and building characteristics in high‑priority commercial properties. This newly formed team canvasses commercial buildings within a defined geographic territory, reporting to a manager based in Richmond, VA, while working on‑site in the Dallas market. • Navigate one‑mile square grids to ensure complete commercial real estate data coverage. • Conduct floor‑by‑floor walkthroughs of assigned buildings to record tenant name, address, suite size, geo‑location, and media. • Communicate professionally with building staff and management to obtain tenant rosters and property data. • Identify new or missing inventory and other commercial data gaps. • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of all collected information. • Represent CoStar in a professional manner at all times. • Lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 5 pounds. • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements to type on a tablet or laptop. • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying as required. • Accurately capture and enter data. • Navigate large geographic areas while staying organized. • Proactively identify missing data and resolve discrepancies. • Quickly learn and apply commercial real estate terminology.

What You Bring

The role demands frequent standing, walking, and driving for up to eight hours a day, along with occasional lifting of equipment up to five pounds and various bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and carrying movements. Work must be performed outdoors in all seasons and includes repetitive hand and arm motions for data entry on tablets or laptops. Candidates should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least two years of professional experience. Strong time‑management, detail‑orientation, and independent work capabilities are essential, as are excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills, and the ability to navigate large geographic areas. Technical proficiency with Windows, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and internet applications, as well as a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, are required. • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting in a car for 8 hours per day. • Work and drive outdoors in all seasons. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not‑for‑profit university or college (preferred). • At least 2 years of professional experience. • Strong time‑management and detail‑oriented; enjoys independent work. • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. • Tech‑savvy: expert in Windows, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and internet applications. • Field experience preferred. • Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
